VETRAM PLUS

This composition contains tramadol and paracetamol which is used in the treatment of moderate and severe pain. they provide relief in post-operative pain due to surgery.

Tramadol hydrochloride acts centrally acting analgesic and serotonin reuptake inhibitor which is similar to that of codeine and morphine. It is generally known as mu receptor agonist.

Paracetamol is used as analgesic and as antipyretic. It is combined with the allergic medications and cold medications, sleep medications or as pain relievers.

Mechanism of action-

Tramadol acts on cytokines and prostaglandin E2, nuclear factors, glial cells as well on macrophages which is responsible for pain.
Paracetamol works by inhibiting the cox-1 and cox-2 enzymes which is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins which is the mediator of inflammation.

It is absorbed orally
It is 20% bound to plasma proteins
It undergoes demethylation
It is excreted via urine and feces

Paracetamol-
It is absorbed orally
It is 10-25% bound to plasma proteins
It is metabolized in liver
It is excreted via urine
